Gwangju Seo-gu Successfully Concludes 'Ieum-ui Jang Event' at Seochang Hanok Culture Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) held the event ‘Hanokeseo NolJang? Ieum-ui Jang’ organized by the Seo-gu Cultural Center on the 6th at Yeoul Madang inside Seochang Hanok Culture Center.

According to Seo-gu on the 8th, this annual event, held in the bountiful autumn where Seochang’s golden fields and silver grass harmonize, was themed ‘Ieum-ui Jang’ and prepared as a place for empathy and communication among eras, generations, and nature with the themes ‘Connection of Tradition and Modernity,’ ‘Connection of Generation and Generation,’ and ‘Connection of Nature and People.’

The performance stage, held in two parts, consisted of ▲‘Sorino-ri’ (Pungmulnori) ▲‘So-eum Band’ (Seochang Byeolgok) ▲Fusion Gugak band ‘Raon’ ▲‘Dalbit Gaya Sori’ (Gayageum) ▲Traditional Performance Research Institute (Lion Dance) ▲Magic Bubble Show ▲Magic Fire Show.

Along with this, traditional culture programs such as traditional craft experience, traditional horticulture experience, and traditional folk game experience were planned, allowing families visiting the event to enjoy various event contents free of charge.

There were also a book circulation market through collaboration activities with Seochang Hanok Library, sharing of eco-friendly kitchen detergent, and a direct transaction market for eco-friendly agricultural products.

The event was conducted in compliance with quarantine rules such as providing hand sanitizer, temperature checks, and social distancing viewing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A Seo-gu official said, “We hope this will be a healing time for local residents exhausted by COVID-19 to enjoy the romance of autumn and experience various programs.”
