S-Oil Supports Janghang Wetland Conservation Activities with 150 Million Won Funding
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] S-OIL signed an agreement on the 8th with Goyang City and the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office to preserve Janghang Wetland and donated 150 million won in sponsorship funds. Janghang Wetland is a Hangang estuary wetland spanning Sinpyeong-dong, Janghang-dong, and Beopgot-dong in Goyang City, home to about 30,000 waterbirds including natural monuments and endangered species such as the hooded crane and black-faced spoonbill. Recognized internationally for its ecological value, it was registered as the 24th Ramsar Wetland site in Korea last May. The sponsorship funds will be used for wetland preservation activities and restoration of otter habitats. Hussein Al-Qatani, CEO of S-OIL, stated, "We will continue to support efforts to expand public awareness and action for ecosystem conservation."
