The 'Korea Human Resources Development Award,' launched for the first time this year, is an award given by the Korea Human Resources Development Association to outstanding organizations and individuals based on their human resources development activities over the past two years.
Considering the difficulty of offline education due to COVID-19, Lotte Human Resources Development Institute established an integrated online and offline learning platform centered on non-face-to-face methods and converted all educational courses to non-face-to-face formats in April last year. In July last year, to improve the level of non-face-to-face learning, the institute produced a guidebook containing non-face-to-face teaching methods and course operation experiences, which was distributed to major groups, government agencies, and public organizations. This month, they plan to additionally conduct non-face-to-face educational courses that enhance the realism of learning activities by utilizing the metaverse platform 'Gather Town.'
Lotte Human Resources Development Institute is a place where one can glimpse the talent management philosophy of founder Shin Kyuk-ho. Since its opening in 1993, it has conducted programs for new employees and core talent development. The company explained, "The Osan campus site was personal property purchased by founder Shin Kyuk-ho to build a factory, but he donated it to the company at a nearly free price to build the Human Resources Development Institute for talent cultivation."
