Christmas Events Including Art Balloon Exhibition at Dongtan Branch and Christmas Market at Main Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 'Little Cloud and Friends' have arrived at Lotte Department Store for Christmas.
Lotte Department Store announced on the 8th that it will decorate the store exterior and surroundings with a Christmas theme ahead of Christmas and begin full-scale preparations for the year-end season. The event started sequentially from the main store on the 6th, depending on the store.
This year’s Christmas season theme at Lotte Department Store is 'Little Cloud, Big Wishes.' FriendsWithYou, a world-renowned American public art artist who visited Korea with the Supermoon at Seokchon Lake in 2016, has returned to Seoul this year as Little Cloud, conveying happiness and wishes.
Lotte Department Store said that the 'Little Cloud' project was planned to deliver happiness and new energy to those struggling after COVID-19. An 11-meter large art balloon of 'Little Cloud' will be exhibited on the rooftop of the main store’s Young Plaza, and the exterior will be decorated with stars, clouds, snowflakes, and a giant tree in line with the 'White Christmas Party' theme.
A video content telling the story of 'Little Cloud' granting special powers to a little star to fulfill wishes and delivering messages of love and hope with many friends will also be produced. This video will be screened on large media fa?ades at the main store, Jamsil Branch, and Dongtan Branch. It can also be viewed on YouTube via QR codes placed throughout the stores.
At the Dongtan Branch, 28 art balloons and the artist’s works will be exhibited from the 28th of this month until February 20th next year, providing customers with a new experience. The main store will hold a Christmas market from the 26th until December 24th. In addition to selling Christmas-related products, the space will be designed for customers to feel and experience the Christmas theme. During the period, customers who purchase over a certain amount will receive a limited quantity of 'Little Cloud Lamps' as gifts.
