[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] On the 7th, marking one week since the implementation of "gradual daily recovery" (With Corona), COVID-19 confirmed cases continued to occur across the country.

According to the quarantine authorities and local governments including Seoul City, from midnight to 9 p.m. on the same day, a total of 1,621 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.

This is the total number of confirmed cases from 16 of the 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, excluding Busan. Busan has not released interim figures since the 1st of this month.

Compared to the same time the previous day, when 1,902 cases were confirmed in 16 metropolitan cities and provinces, this is 281 fewer cases. On weekends, the number of tests tends to decrease, leading to a reduction in confirmed cases.

Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were reported on this day, 1,255 were in the metropolitan area and 366 in non-metropolitan areas.

By the 16 metropolitan cities and provinces, the numbers are as follows: Seoul 695, Gyeonggi 462, Incheon 98, Gyeongbuk 60, Chungnam 59, Gyeongnam 42, Daegu 34, Chungbuk 32, Gangwon 30, Gwangju 29, Daejeon 22, Jeonbuk 21, Jeonnam 17, Jeju 16, Ulsan 4.

Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at 0:00 on the 8th is expected to increase from this figure and reach around 1,900.
