According to Seoul and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, a total of 1,462 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded nationwide.
This number represents the total confirmed cases from 16 cities and provinces excluding Busan. Busan has not released interim figures since the 1st and was therefore excluded from the tally.
Compared to the previous day’s total of 1,542 cases from the 16 cities and provinces, this is a decrease of 80 cases. One week ago, on the 30th of last month, a total of 1,418 cases were reported at the same time, including 57 cases from Busan.
By region, the cases were as follows: Seoul 572, Gyeonggi 350, Incheon 134, Gyeongbuk 94, Chungnam 55, Daegu 53, Chungbuk 45, Gyeongnam 42, Gangwon 36, Daejeon 22, Jeonbuk 16, Gwangju 15, Jeju 14, Jeonnam 10, Ulsan 4. Among the 16 cities and provinces excluding Busan, no cases were reported in Sejong.
Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at 0:00 on the 7th is expected to be higher than this.
The previous day’s final tally increased by 706 cases from the 6 p.m. count, reaching 2,248 cases.

Looking at the new confirmed cases reported over the past week from the 31st of last month to this day, the daily numbers were 2,061 → 1,685 → 1,589 → 2,667 → 2,482 → 2,344 → 2,248, with an average of about 2,154 cases per day.
