After being selected as the People Power Party’s presidential candidate on the day, Yoon said in his acceptance speech, "The belief that our society operates based on fairness and common sense, that trust as social capital, serves as the foundation for solving many problems in our society and achieving growth and prosperity." He added, "I will dismantle the new deep-rooted evils of power and the cartel of corruption that have nested everywhere."
He emphasized, "A society where outcomes are distorted by cheating becomes one that kills challenge and effort," and "I will block the inheritance of vested interests and reconnect the broken ladder of social mobility."
Yoon stated, "I will create a nation of national unity," adding, "The Moon administration divided this country through ideology and by pitting citizens against each other," and "There cannot be a separate progressive Korea and conservative Korea."
He said, "I always keep in my heart the will of the people who called me into politics," and described it as "a command to correct the privileges and cheating that are rampant in every corner of society, based on fair standards without worrying about political pressures."
Yoon also shared his reflections on stepping down as Prosecutor General and entering politics to become the presidential candidate of the main opposition party.
He mentioned, "I have lived by the belief of ‘loyalty not to people but only to the people,’" and "As a public official, I have steadfastly walked the path with the principle that one must always be honest when facing the people." He continued, "This administration will be very afraid and deeply hurt by my victory in the primary," explaining, "Because I am a symbol of fairness that has toppled Cho Kuk’s hypocrisy and Chu Mi-ae’s arrogance."
Former Prosecutor General Yoon said, "This administration has persistently tried to bring me down. They thought that if they could just destroy me, the administration would automatically be extended, so they have been relentlessly attacking me for two years," and added, "No political conspiracy can bring down me, Yoon Seok-yeol." He emphasized, "Yoon Seok-yeol is no longer an individual but has become the aspiration of the people who wish to restore fairness and justice."
He also promised growth and welfare, a cultural powerhouse, creative education, and the establishment of a robust security system.
He revealed his leadership vision as president, proposing a president who listens and communicates, takes responsibility, demonstrates sincerity based on principles and convictions, and does not abuse power.
