"Eternals" Draws 470,000 Viewers on Second Day, Tops Box Office
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Marvel's new release 'Eternals' was watched by 470,000 people within two days of its release.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated box office data on the 5th, the movie 'Eternals' (director Chlo? Zhao) attracted 177,975 viewers on the 4th, securing the number one spot at the box office. The film, which premiered on the 3rd, has accumulated a total audience of 475,840.
'Eternals' drew about 290,000 viewers on its opening day, marking the highest opening score among Marvel films released this year. This figure far surpasses the opening score of 196,233 for 'Black Widow,' the top-grossing foreign film this year, and the 203,254 viewers for the recently released 'Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage.'
Marvel's strong fandom shone through even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In second place was Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi film 'Dune,' which attracted 18,041 viewers, with a cumulative audience of 873,204 since its release on the 20th of last month.
