"Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu" is where the characters "Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae)" and "Sang-woo (played by Park Hae-soo)" from the Netflix-based "Squid Game" have lived for a long time. It is also the actual hometown of director Hwang Dong-hyuk, attracting much interest from drama fans.
Building on this response, the district visited the filming locations within the area to hear filming impressions and behind-the-scenes stories from local shopkeepers and residents, producing a video introducing the area including Baegun Market, where "Sang-woo's Fish Shop" is located.
The video features comedian Moon Yong-hyun and Dobong-gu announcer Lee Yeon-ah, who appear dressed as the characters "Il-nam" and "Sae-byeok," respectively, as they search for Gi-hun in Ssangmun-dong. The opening includes a surprise visit to the Dobong-gu mayor's office in search of Seong Gi-hun.
This cheerful policy report video featuring famous lines from Squid Game can be viewed on YouTube's "Dobongbong TV."

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it has been selected as the "Best Institution" for two consecutive years in the "2021 Land and Cadastral Management Work Evaluation" conducted by Seoul City.
The Land and Cadastral Management Work Evaluation is conducted annually by the city to evaluate all aspects of land and cadastral work, select outstanding institutions and contributors, award commendations to boost morale, and share best practices to implement user-centered customized land management policies.
This year's evaluation assessed the performance related to land and cadastral work carried out by 25 autonomous districts in Seoul from October last year to September this year, divided into five areas: ▲Land Policy ▲Real Estate Appraisal ▲Real Estate Management ▲Spatial Surveying ▲Cadastral Re-survey.
The district achieved the best institution award among the 25 autonomous districts in Seoul in the land policy field by producing a practical guidebook for real estate transaction reporting and actively supervising and inspecting real estate brokerage offices.
In particular, to prevent inconvenience to residents following the housing lease contract reporting system implemented since June, the district revised local ordinances, strengthened monitoring of real estate transaction reporting through education and publicity targeting real estate brokers.
Additionally, it produced and distributed a practical guidebook for real estate transaction reporting to protect tenants, actively responding to the rapidly changing real estate market to stabilize the housing market.
Furthermore, the district conducted year-round supervision and inspection of real estate brokerage offices to prevent disruptive acts in real estate transactions and actively enforced administrative measures against illegal activities.
Efforts to advance real estate brokerage culture and establish transaction order, such as free online training for brokers, operation of a real estate brokerage dispute counseling center, and voluntary self-inspections of brokerage offices, were also highly evaluated.
The district plans to continue focusing on realizing field-centered land policies with residents and operating a rational land price announcement system.
Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, said, "I am very honored to receive a good evaluation in cadastral work directly related to residents' property rights. We will continue to strive to provide high-quality cadastral civil services."
Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) officially launched the local youth group "Jongno Youth Association" on the 5th and held the policy public forum "Youth Knock."
This aims to establish a solid foundation for youth participation in local issues, marking this year and next as the birth period of Jongno youth policy.
To explore and present locally focused policy projects deemed necessary from the youth perspective, 20 participants residing or active in the area applied last month, completing the formation of the youth association.
The policy public forum "Youth Knock," launched with the youth association, will be held on the 5th at 3 PM in the 12th-floor education hall of the district office, proceeding with Seoul city youth policy guidance, discussion, result sharing, and surveys.
Under the theme "Knock knock, how are you all?" the forum will discuss diverse opinions in four areas: ▲Jobs (Work) ▲Economic Stability (Economy) ▲Housing (Living) ▲Participation Activities (Play). It is designed as a meaningful time to share actual problems felt by youth and seek solutions.

This policy public forum event is the starting point of Jongno-gu's youth policy. Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is operating a "Mobile Screening Clinic" at Jungmaru Park in Yeongdeungpo-dong, a traditional market cluster area, until 6 PM on the 12th.
Amid sporadic COVID-19 infections in traditional markets, the district plans to break the chain of infection through large-scale and continuous testing.
Jungmaru Park, where the "Mobile Screening Clinic" is installed, is the largest traditional market cluster area in the region, with eight traditional markets including Dongnam Shopping Center, Rotary Shopping Center, and Samgu Market within a 10-minute walk. About 700 stores employ approximately 1,400 workers.
In October, when COVID-19 was spreading centered on traditional markets, a temporary screening clinic was set up for testing. Despite large-scale testing, sporadic infections continued, so the district plans to extend the testing period and eradicate COVID-19 through repeated testing.
The Yeongdeungpo-dong "Mobile Screening Clinic" is installed at Jungmaru Park (14, Yeongdeungpo-ro 53-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu) and operates until 6 PM on the 12th. Operating hours are daily from 10 AM to 6 PM except Sundays, with disinfection and lunch break for medical staff from 1 PM to 2 PM. Anyone, regardless of symptoms, can receive free testing, including traditional market workers.
Additionally, the district conducts continuous quarantine inspections of traditional markets, encourages preemptive testing and vaccination, and promotes compliance with market quarantine rules to block the spread of COVID-19.
