November 11 is 'Bookstore Day', Ceremony Held for Bookstore, Book, and Author Awards of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Korea Federation of Bookstore Associations (President Lee Jong-bok, hereinafter referred to as Korea Federation) will hold the '2021 Bookstore Day Ceremony' at 2 p.m. on the 11th of this month at Community House Masil located in Jung-gu, Seoul. November 11, 'Bookstore Day,' is a date that evokes the image of 'books (冊) placed on shelves' and 'people lined up visiting bookstores to read them.' It was established to boost the pride of bookstores and booksellers nationwide and to revitalize local bookstores.
At the awards ceremony, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister's Commendation, Bookstore Person of the Year Award, Excellent Association Award, 2021 Book and Author of the Year selected directly by bookstores nationwide, Merit Awards, and Appreciation Plaques will be presented. The Appreciation Plaques and Merit Awards will be given to those who have worked to form cooperative relationships with local bookstores and the publishing and distribution sectors or who have contributed to bookstore-related policy research and the promotion of reading.
