On the 4th, the government announced that it had decided to provide an additional approximately 290,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine following the donation of 1.1 million doses on the 12th of last month to Vietnam, which is struggling due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vietnam is a key partner country in the New Southern Policy, with about 156,000 overseas Koreans residing there and approximately 9,000 Korean companies operating in the country.
