Gochang-gun Launches Campaign to Promote Special Act on Real Estate Ownership Transfer Registration

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, is focusing on promoting to residents as the operation period of the Special Measures Act on Real Estate Ownership Transfer Registration, which has been temporarily implemented for two years since August last year, is less than one year left.

According to the county on the 4th, the Special Measures Act allows temporary ownership transfer registration through an easy procedure for real estate that does not have ownership preservation registration or where the actual rights relationship is inconsistent.

The application targets are land registered in the land and forest register, buildings registered in the building register, real estate effectively transferred due to legal acts such as sale, gift, or exchange before June 30, 1995, inherited real estate, real estate without ownership preservation registration, and unrecovered real estate.

To issue a certificate, applicants must write an application form with the guarantee of four or more guarantors appointed by the head of the town or township where the property is located and one qualified guarantor (a judicial scrivener), then submit it to Gochang-gun Office (General Civil Affairs Division).

The county issues the certificate if there are no objections during the on-site investigation and the two-month public notice period.

Applicants must apply for registration at the competent registry office by February 6, 2023.

Park Seonggi, head of the General Civil Affairs Division, said, “This Special Measures Act on Real Estate was implemented for the first time in 14 years since 2006, and the application period for the certificate is less than one year left. We will actively promote it so that residents who have had difficulties exercising property rights due to failure to transfer registration can benefit.”
