[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 4th that it will host a meeting with the members of the Republic of Korea Open Government Committee on the 5th to welcome Sanjay Pradhan, Secretary-General of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), during his visit to Korea.
Secretary-General Sanjay will have a meeting with Minister Jeon Hae-cheol on the first day of his visit, from the 4th to the 6th, and attend the Korea Innovation Expo on the 6th. Through a meeting with the members of the Open Government Committee, he will share the achievements and future directions of open government, as well as the progress of the OGP Global Summit, and discuss international issues such as COVID-19.
Secretary-General Sanjay emphasized the role of the 3rd Republic of Korea Open Government Committee, civil society solidarity, and the importance of the 2021 OGP Global Summit. He said, "I hope this summit will expand the civic space, which has been reduced due to COVID-19, and become a place to hear diverse voices from citizens."
