[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] KT Skylife announced on the 4th that it donated 20 million KRW to support the improvement of the environment in the speech therapy room at the Purme Foundation Nexs Children's Rehabilitation Hospital.
Through this, the speech therapy room will be transformed into a modern treatment space. By establishing smart devices and software equipment optimized for speech therapy, the company explained that it will be possible to provide efficient and systematic speech therapy programs tailored to the developmental stages of individual children with disabilities.
In particular, an augmented reality (AR)-based vocabulary learning program will be introduced, allowing children with speech disabilities to vividly see images corresponding to vocabulary. Using a voice training program conducted in a game format, speech therapy that can increase participation and interest of children with disabilities is also possible. Skylife has been supporting speech therapy for children with disabilities at Purme Children's Hospital since 2017.
Kim Cheolsu, CEO of KT Skylife, said, “I am pleased that children can receive enjoyable and effective treatment through speech therapy applying augmented reality and games,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead in supporting speech therapy so that children with disabilities can communicate freely through close cooperation with Purme Children's Hospital.”
