On the 3rd, the city announced that the pet playground, which opened on the 22nd of last month, has gained a reputation through SNS and is establishing itself as a must-visit place for pet-owning households.
The pet playground was bustling last weekend with an average of about 150 dogs and 500 guardians visiting. Even on weekdays, about 50 dogs and 150 guardians visit, showing that the pet playground has captured the hearts of pet-owning households from the early days of its opening.
Considering that a famous pet playground in Gyeongnam has 200 visitors on weekends and 50 on weekdays, the popularity of Bujusan Pet Playground is quite significant.
Mayor Kim Jongsik of Mokpo also visited the pet playground on the 31st of last month and felt its popularity while talking with dog owners.
A citizen who raises a retriever said, “Unlike small pets, there are hardly any suitable places for large dogs to play, so it’s great that a dedicated playground for dogs has been prepared.”
Other positive reviews included, “It’s healing to see dogs running freely,” “It’s great that small and medium-sized dogs and large dogs are separated,” and “Many dog cafes don’t accept large dogs well, so I’m very happy that there is a space for large dogs.”
Mayor Kim said, “The satisfaction with the pet playground is very high and encouraging,” adding, “The pet playground is a healing space where pets and guardians can be together. We will create a pet-friendly city where pet owners and non-pet owners, animals and people, can all happily coexist.”
Bujusan Pet Playground, the first in the southwestern region of Jeonnam, is conveniently located close to the city center and equipped with various amenities such as parasols, benches, drinking fountains, walking trails, and a lawn plaza, making it an excellent healing space.
In particular, the play areas for large dogs and small to medium-sized dogs are separated, and to minimize safety blind spots, two managers with pet management certifications are stationed to prevent accidents and promptly resolve complaints. Additionally, to prevent safety accidents, children under 13 years old must enter accompanied by an adult guardian.
The pet playground operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday, with regular closure on Mondays. Admission is free, and operating hours may vary slightly during winter and rainy days.
