Jongno-gu Wins Two Presidential Awards at Korea Innovation Expo... District Mayor Kim Young-jong Receives Major Award Ahead of Parliamentary Candidacy
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) won the Presidential Award, the highest honor, in two categories: ▲Local Government Innovation Evaluation ▲Korea Knowledge Awards at the '2021 Korea Innovation Expo.'
The expo, held on the 3rd at Dongdaemun Design Plaza to share government innovation and regional innovation achievements with the public, proceeded in the order of opening remarks, congratulatory speeches, performance reports, dialogue with citizens, award ceremony, and exhibition viewing.
Jongno-gu achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Presidential Award for two consecutive years at the Korea Knowledge Awards hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to spread a knowledge-based administrative and management culture, following last year's Minister of the Interior and Safety Award. The district received high praise for introducing the concept of a smart city across all areas of district administration and promoting projects that enhance residents' welfare.
