Hwasun-gun to Promote 13 Joint Sewage Projects Next Year
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 3rd that it has secured 10.7 billion KRW in national funding to promote 13 joint sewage projects next year.
The county secured 10.7 billion KRW in national funding for 13 public sewage projects next year (2 new projects, 11 ongoing projects), including the Sapyeong District old sewage pipeline maintenance project, with a total project cost of 16.1 billion KRW.
The main sewage projects include the "Sewage Pipeline Maintenance in Unmaintained Areas and Old Sewage Pipeline Maintenance Project," which will invest 6.4 billion KRW (4.2 billion KRW national funding) in four districts including Gwangdeok Residential Area to lay 6.02 km of pipelines.
In six districts including Woncheon-ri, Doam-myeon, the only township without sewage maintenance, 8.1 billion KRW (5.1 billion KRW national funding) will be invested to maintain sewage facilities such as 19 treatment plants (4 new, 15 upgraded) and 10.4 km of pipelines.
In three districts, 1.6 billion KRW (1.4 billion KRW national funding) will be invested to expand public sewage treatment facilities with decreased treatment efficiency and improve advanced treatment.
The county secured the budget by timely implementing sewage maintenance master plan revisions, various technical diagnoses, and safety diagnosis services, and persuading central government ministries and related agencies.
The sewage projects carried out by the county include ▲sewage pipeline maintenance projects in 4 districts (52.9 billion KRW) ▲village sewage maintenance in 6 districts (43.6 billion KRW) ▲environmental basic facilities (treatment plants) in 3 districts (14.7 billion KRW), totaling 111.2 billion KRW in project costs.
A county official said, "We will do our best to promote sewage projects on time to preserve the water quality of public water areas and revitalize the local economy through job creation."
