Gwangju·Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Administration, 2nd Meeting to Promote Online Transition of Traditional Markets
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Director Jang Daegyo) held a meeting to listen to the voices from traditional markets, which are the foundation of the local economy, and to seek ways to actively respond in the era of COVID-19.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration announced that on the 1st, it held the 'Jeonnam Western Region Traditional Market Online Promotion Meeting' at Naju Moksago-eul Market.
At this meeting, the presidents of merchant associations and project managers from four traditional markets participating in and selected for the specialized market development project, as well as KEPCO KDN, discussed specialized 'live commerce' strategies suitable for traditional markets.
The attendees said, "Our region has many traditional markets with unique regional and market characteristics," and emphasized that for successful live commerce, it is necessary to discover product groups considering geographical and environmental external factors and proceed with differentiated concepts.
An expert attending the meeting suggested, "Since most distribution companies highly evaluate the potential for market expansion and are competitively conducting live commerce, it is necessary to secure customer trust through consistent broadcasts for at least six months and approach it with a long-term perspective."
Director Jang Daegyo stated, "If we actively plan and broadcast regional products nationwide in connection with the unique characteristics of our region, live commerce will play a significant role in revitalizing traditional markets," and added, "We will work with KEPCO KDN to establish a policy foundation for successful live commerce and create excellent cases."
