Road Traffic Authority Selects 21 Winners for 'Pedestrian Traffic Safety Contest'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 3rd that it has selected 21 winning entries for the '2021 Pedestrian Traffic Safety Contest,' co-hosted with the National Police Agency.
The contest, held from August 18 to October 1, received a total of 374 submissions including posters, videos, and photos featuring ideas on 'pedestrian traffic safety.'
According to the judging results by a panel of experts in each field, the grand prize in the poster category was awarded to the work titled "The Pedestrian's Safety Belt is the Stop Line," which depicted the stop line on the road as a safety belt protecting pedestrians.
Winners will receive prize money along with certificates from the Commissioner of the National Police Agency and the Director of the Korea Road Traffic Authority. The winning works will be broadcast on nationwide Bus Information Systems (BIS) and outdoor electronic billboards to help prevent pedestrian traffic accidents.

A representative from the Korea Road Traffic Authority stated, "We will actively promote the use of these works to establish a traffic culture that considers and yields to vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities."
