The Top 10 Mechanical Technologies of the Year is an award given by the Korea Federation of Mechanical Technology Associations since 2013 to outstanding technologies and products in the domestic mechanical field. This year's selection results will be announced at the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers conference held on the 4th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.
LG Electronics explained that with this award, it has won the 'Top 10 Mechanical Technologies of the Year' for eight consecutive years, following system air conditioners, humidifying air purifiers, and homebrew beer makers. An LG Electronics official said, "LG Electronics is the only company to have won for eight consecutive years," adding, "In particular, the All-in-One Tower is the first product in the home vacuum cleaner sector to be selected as one of the Top 10 Mechanical Technologies."
The All-in-One Tower is a new concept docking station that allows wireless vacuum charging, accessory storage, and dustbin emptying all at once. Customers do not need to empty the dustbin separately; after placing the vacuum cleaner on the All-in-One Tower and pressing the dust emptying start button, the dust suction motor draws in external air to empty the dustbin. If the dustbin emptying function is set to automatic, the dustbin will be emptied every time the vacuum cleaner is docked without pressing the button.
Previously, the LG premium wireless vacuum cleaner CodeZero A9S Objet Collection equipped with the All-in-One Tower received the CES Innovation Award from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States and won the 2021 Red Dot Design Award and the 2021 iF Design Award.
