Mokpo-si, Gradual Implementation of COVID-19 Stepwise Daily Recovery Fully Launched
Everyday Happiness Begins with Participation in Quarantine, Gradual Easing Focused on Fully Vaccinated Individuals
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it will officially implement a revised plan for the phased recovery of daily life from COVID-19.
The city will first fully lift operating hour restrictions on multi-use facilities and will gradually lift restrictions on entertainment facilities in two phases, considering the risk level of infection control.
However, high-risk facilities such as entertainment venues, singing practice rooms, indoor sports facilities, and bathhouses will introduce a vaccination certificate and negative test confirmation system, a concept of a quarantine pass, allowing only fully vaccinated individuals and some exceptions to use these facilities more safely.
In particular, quarantine management will be strengthened so that only fully vaccinated individuals can enter entertainment facilities.
Proof of vaccination completion will be accepted through electronic certificates such as the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s COOV app, paper certificates, and vaccination stickers.
To enhance on-site compliance, a one-week guidance period will be operated for the vaccination certificate and negative test confirmation system, and a two-week guidance period will be operated for indoor sports facilities considering refunds and extensions of usage rights for unvaccinated individuals.
Private gatherings will be expanded to up to 12 people regardless of vaccination status, but in restaurants and cafes where masks cannot be worn while eating, unvaccinated individuals are limited to 4 people.
Large-scale events and assemblies will be allowed mainly for fully vaccinated individuals, and events and assemblies can accommodate up to 99 people regardless of vaccination status.
Additionally, wedding halls, exhibitions/fairs, international conferences, and academic events can accommodate up to 499 people.
Regular religious activities will also be expanded, and high-risk activities will be gradually eased. When including unvaccinated individuals, regular religious activities such as worship and Buddhist ceremonies can accommodate up to 50% of the venue capacity. If composed only of fully vaccinated individuals, there is no limit on the number of people, but eating and drinking activities are restricted considering the risk of infection.
