End of Remote Work, Preparing to Commute... Shinsegae International's Women's Wear Sales Up 46%
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Domestic women's fashion, which had seen sales shrink due to the gradual transition to daily life recovery (With Corona), has begun to regain momentum.
According to Shinsegae International on the 1st, sales of women's fashion brands BOB, JIGOTT, Studio Tomboy, and Ten Months increased by 46% during the ten days from October 22 to 31 compared to the same period last year. November is expected to see further sales growth as the full-scale With Corona phase begins and severe cold weather sets in.
Shinsegae International's flagship women's fashion brand BOB saw sales grow by 32% during the past ten days compared to the same period last year. Notably, all products ranked within the top 10 in sales were jackets, indicating high demand for outerwear. The season's representative product, the Crack Down Vest (jacket), has almost completely sold out of the prepared stock, and both colors have entered the first phase of reproduction.
The online-exclusive brand Ten Months saw sales surge by 53% during the same period. Ten Months focuses on designs that emphasize basics rather than trends, with basic tops that are highly versatile as office wear driving sales. Innerwear products such as turtleneck T-shirts and sweaters, round T-shirts, and cardigans, which provide good warmth in the suddenly chilly weather, saw sales double during the period.
The women's fashion brand JIGOTT experienced great popularity with lightweight padding during the same period. All the top 1 to 10 brand sales rankings within its online mall S.I.VILLAGE were occupied by padded items.
As more customers prepare for going to work, sales of color cosmetics are also increasing. Sales in the makeup category within S.I.VILLAGE from October 22 to 31 rose by 38% compared to the same period last year. Sales are increasing mainly for base makeup products and cushions for light skin makeup, and lipstick sales are also rising amid expectations of being able to remove masks due to With Corona.
