As of 9 PM, 1,413 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide... 464 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] As the spread of COVID-19 continues, new confirmed cases were reported across the country even on the 31st, one day before the implementation of the "gradual return to normal life (With Corona)."
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 9 p.m. on that day, a total of 1,413 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded nationwide. This is 464 fewer than the 1,877 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
The decrease is believed to be influenced by reduced testing during the weekend and holidays. However, compared to 1,128 cases recorded at the same time one week earlier on Sunday, October 24, the number is actually 285 higher.
Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were reported that day, 1,103 cases (78.1%) were in the metropolitan area, and 310 cases (21.9%) were in non-metropolitan areas. By city and province, Seoul reported 626 cases, Gyeonggi 350, Incheon 127, Busan 54, Daegu 53, Chungnam 47, Gyeongnam 29, Gyeongbuk 27, Jeonbuk 26, Chungbuk 17, Jeonnam 15, Ulsan and Gangwon 12 each, Daejeon 9, Gwangju 5, and Sejong and Jeju 2 each. Confirmed cases were reported in all 17 cities and provinces nationwide.

Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at midnight on the following day, November 1, is expected to increase further to the 1,500 to 1,600 range. On the previous day, 184 cases were added after 9 p.m., closing at a final count of 2,061 cases.
