Actor Lee Byung-hun to Receive Asia Society Award
Entertainment Game Changer Awards Winners Selected
Actor Lee Byung-hun has been selected as the recipient of the Asia Society Entertainment Game Changer Award. His agency, BH Entertainment, announced on the 29th that he will receive the award on the 1st of next month at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in the United States. The Asia Society is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1956 by Rockefeller III. It strengthens globalization and mutual relations between the Asia-Pacific region and the United States through various exchanges and cooperation. The Entertainment Summit is an event that highlights the achievements of leading figures in the cultural and artistic fields in Asia. It selects awardees across fields such as film, digital content, music, and games. Previous recipients include director Bob Weiss and singer Rain (Jung Ji-hoon). Lee will join the stage alongside Bella Bajaria, Netflix Global TV head, director Destin Cretton, who directed the film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," and actor George Takei. He was recognized for his steady activities since entering Hollywood in the United States with "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" in 2009. Lee also received the Cultural Diplomacy Award from the Asia Society Korea Center in June 2014.
