598-unit Apartment Complex to Be Built Near Geumho Station on Line 3
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] A total of 598 apartment units will be built in the vicinity of Geumho Station on Subway Line 3.
On the 28th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 9th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee Delegated Subcommittee and announced on the 29th that it had approved with modifications the designation of a district unit planning zone and the plan decision for the construction of transit-oriented housing (including public housing) in the area of 1458 Geumho-dong 4-ga, Seongdong-gu.
The target site (13,103㎡) is a transit-oriented area adjacent to Geumho Station on Line 3, where aging and deteriorated buildings are densely concentrated, raising the need for residential environment improvement.
Accordingly, the city designated the area as a district unit planning zone and decided to build a total of 598 apartment units (171 public rental housing units) ranging from 5 basement floors to 29 floors above ground.
Reflecting the characteristics of the transit-oriented area, the plan includes creating publicly accessible spaces and open areas around Geumho Station to secure visual openness. Pedestrian paths will also be secured considering the nearby landscapes such as Dongho-ro and Jangteo-gil.
The building will house the Uri Neighborhood Care Center, which will address the care gap for children after school and provide an educational space, thereby enhancing public services by supplying the insufficient infrastructure within Seongdong-gu.
