NS Home Shopping Operates Intensive Food Safety and Quality Control Period During Kimjang Season
NS Home Shopping will operate a focused food safety quality management period for kimchi products starting from the 1st of next month, ahead of the kimchi-making season.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] NS Home Shopping announced on the 29th that it will operate a focused food safety quality management period for kimchi products ahead of the kimchi-making season starting from the 1st of next month.
During this period, packaged kimchi will undergo ▲verification of raw material origin and quality ▲hygiene management inspection ▲additional safety tests at the Food Safety Research Institute.
To verify the origin and quality of raw materials, inspections will be conducted not only on the origin of key ingredients such as agricultural products, salted seafood, red pepper powder, and sea salt but also on the quality of the raw materials, along with on-site inspections. The on-site inspection targets are the manufacturers of 12 major products broadcasted on TV home shopping, as well as approximately 20 major kimchi products sold on NS Shopping Book and NS Mall.
NS Home Shopping will also conduct safety tests for eight types of food poisoning bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Clostridium perfringens, and Staphylococcus aureus, through its Food Safety Research Institute.
