Wanju-gun Selected as a 'Top Teen Travel Destination in the COVID Era'

Selected for SRT Magazine's '2021 SRT Awards'

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju-gun announced on the 28th that it was selected as the best travel destination in the COVID-19 era by SRT Magazine's '2021 SRT Awards.'

SRT Magazine is SR's in-train magazine, consistently loved not only by railway travelers but also by the general public.

The '2021 SRT Awards' reflected the results of the first reader survey conducted throughout September, followed by a second round of evaluation by 10 experts including travel writers and travel journalists, ultimately selecting 10 cities.

In the evaluation, Wanju-gun was praised as a travel destination ideal for resting amidst the tranquil scenery at the foot of Jognamsan Mountain, stimulating cultural sensibility through the harmony of tradition and modernity.

In particular, Soyang Oseong Hanok Village received exceptionally high evaluations, and the Korea Alcohol Theme Museum, Sang-gwan Gonggi Village Cypress Forest, and the sunset at Bibijeong on the Mangyeong River also received high scores.

Previously, Wanju-gun was also named among the 'Top 5 Domestic Travel Destinations to Visit in 2021' in the 2021 New Year's issue of SRT Magazine.

Additionally, six major tourist sites were selected as recommended tourist destinations by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.

These include the wellness tourism site Gui Andeok Village, the spring non-face-to-face safe tourism sites Gyeongcheon Singgeuraengi Ecoville and Hwaamsa Temple, the April recommended tourist destination Soyang Oseong Hanok Village, the September recommended tourist destination Samnye Book Village & Picture Book Museum, one of the 12 industrial tourism sites in 2021 Samnye Culture and Arts Village, and the national scenic site Wibong Waterfall.

Meanwhile, besides Wanju, ten other regions were selected for the '2021 SRT Awards,' including Gyeongju, Gongju, Mokpo, Buyeo, Sinan, Yeongju, Ulju, Iksan, and Jangheung.
