KG Dongbu Steel Plants Ten Thousand Trees of 'Hope' in Turkey
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] KG Dongbu Steel announced on the 28th that it donated 10,000 saplings to Turkey, which suffered damage from wildfires.
KG Dongbu Steel, together with its client companies, delivered donations to the Turkish non-profit environmental organization coalition CEKUD to provide 10,000 saplings locally in Turkey.
In early August, wildfires broke out in the southern region of Turkey, destroying more than 100,000 hectares of forest and causing significant damage. In response, KG Dongbu Steel donated saplings to comfort Turkey, a country where its products are sold, and to engage in social contribution efforts for environmental protection.
KG Dongbu Steel, which sells its products to over 70 countries worldwide, exported galvanized and galvalume steel sheets to Turkey in the first half of this year, recording sales of approximately 11.3 billion KRW. As Turkey is considered a key market, KG Dongbu Steel has maintained steady engagement with local clients.

A KG Dongbu Steel representative said, “While communicating remotely with our clients, we heard that saplings are still lacking in Turkey, which led us to consider ways to provide practical help to the country. We hope that the 10,000 saplings delivered this time will plant ‘hope’ in Turkey.”
