Ascendio was established in April 1977 as Uiseong Silup Co., Ltd. and was listed on the KOSPI market in December 1989. In April 2021, the company changed its name to Ascendio.
The business divisions include film, drama, management, performance, and video sectors.
The film and drama business sectors continue to expand due to the global market expansion of K-content, diversification of products based on investment, distribution, and production, and the development of measures to eradicate the global illegal market.
