Fire at Chuncheon Pig Farm Extinguished in 2 Hours... 2,000 Pigs Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A fire broke out at a pig farm in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Province on the 27th, killing thousands of pigs.
According to the police and fire authorities, a fire presumed to be caused by electrical factors occurred around 11:30 a.m. at a pig farm in Joyang-ri, Dongsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, and was extinguished after about two hours.
The fire completely burned one barn of about 500㎡ on the farm, killing approximately 2,000 pigs. The fire damage estimated by the fire department was calculated at 245 million won.
