Jeonju City Signs Agreement with Social Economy Organizations to Achieve Carbon Neutrality
Agreement with Jeonju City Social Economy Enterprise Council... Cooperation in Daily Practices Such as Reducing Single-Use Products
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Social economy organizations in the Jeonju area are joining forces to achieve '2050 Carbon Neutrality.'
On the 27th, Jeonju City signed a carbon neutrality business agreement with the Jeonju Social Economy Enterprise Council, attended by Lee Su-hong, Chairman of the Jeonju Social Enterprise Council; Lee Chang-woo, Chairman of the Jeonju Village Enterprise Council; Oh Chun-ja, Chairman of the Jeonju Cooperative Council; and Lee Chang-seung, Chairman of the Jeonju Self-Support Enterprise Council.
This agreement was prepared to promote the atmosphere for overcoming the climate crisis and realizing carbon neutrality by social economy organizations and to encourage practical actions in daily life.
According to the agreement, social economy organizations in the region will cooperate in practical actions to achieve carbon neutrality, including △ improving heating and cooling efficiency △ minimizing power consumption when using electronic devices △ purchasing low-carbon certified products and local agricultural and livestock products △ using public transportation △ walking or cycling for short distances △ reducing disposable products △ practicing waste separation.
In the future, Jeonju City plans to continue relay agreements with related organizations such as the International Lions Club Jeonbuk District and the Women's Association Council, as well as the four major religions: Christianity, Won Buddhism, Buddhism, and Catholicism.
