Namwon-si Accelerates Preparations for Gradual COVID-19 Recovery
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 27th that it will form and operate a Daily Recovery Promotion Team to ensure citizens can safely return to their daily lives from COVID-19.
The Daily Recovery Promotion Team will support the economic and social gap reduction and livelihood recovery so that self-employed individuals and vulnerable groups, who have been pushed to their limits due to prolonged social distancing, can recover to the pre-COVID-19 situation.
Additionally, with the increase in vaccination rates, the quarantine system will be gradually eased in the order of business facilities, large-scale events, and private gatherings to support a smooth transition to daily life recovery.
The Promotion Team, led by Mayor Lee Hwan-joo as the head and Deputy Mayor Jeon Kyung-sik as the deputy head, is composed of four teams: ▲Economy & Livelihood ▲Social & Culture ▲Autonomous Quarantine ▲Medical Support, and plans to actively respond to the government’s With-COVID strategy while implementing support measures in each field.
The Economy & Livelihood Team will gradually normalize COVID-19 quarantine regulations targeting small business owners and check the COVID-19 response status in the local economy, employment, and labor sectors.
The Social & Culture Team will support education recovery, cultural healing, and the recovery of industries in the social and cultural sectors for citizens’ daily life recovery.
The Autonomous Quarantine sector will establish a daily recovery quarantine system and create an ecosystem for community-participatory daily recovery.
The Medical Support Team plans to work on blocking infection transmission among the unvaccinated and vulnerable groups and establishing a safe medical response system for phased daily recovery.
Promotion Team Leader Lee Hwan-joo said, “Vaccination against COVID-19 is essential for the phased recovery to daily life, and we will focus all our capabilities on ensuring that all citizens recover a safe and happy daily life, making every effort in operating the Promotion Team.”
Meanwhile, as of the previous day, 66,200 people, accounting for 82.5% of the total population, have completed the first dose, and 61,675 people, or 76.8%, have completed the second dose.
