This contest was hosted by Gwangju Metropolitan City and organized by the Gwangju China Center to promote exchanges and friendship with China. More than 20 finalists who passed the fierce preliminary round gave passionate presentations non-face-to-face using an online platform, and the event was broadcast live nationwide through the China Center’s official YouTube channel.
The Grand Prize of the ‘Chinese Speaking Contest’ was awarded to Park Hee-chan (5th grade, Ulsan Jeokdong Elementary School), the Excellence Awards went to Yuk Do-yoon (2nd grade, Yeosu Information Science High School) and Kim Hyun-young (4th grade, Suncheon National University, Department of Chinese Language and Literature), and the Merit Awards were given to Lee Joo-won (4th grade, Hanyang University, Department of Japanese Language) and Kang Soo-min (3rd grade, Busan Bumin Elementary School).
