Igajayeonmyeon, 20 Years of Commitment to Domestic Wheat... "Now We Are Going to Meet Customers Directly"
Expanding Business Scope by Launching an Online Mall
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] There is a company that has insisted on using only Korean wheat for 20 years, supplying self-developed noodles, sauces, and convenience foods to major franchise dining establishments, eco-friendly food companies, large supermarkets, and convenience stores. This company is Igajayeonmyeon. Focusing on B2B (business-to-business) operations, Igajayeonmyeon has recently expanded its business area online through Cafe24, directly meeting general consumers.
On the 26th, Lee Beomsoo, CEO of Igajayeonmyeon, said, "When we started the business over 20 years ago, we went through numerous trials and errors, including importing and modifying processing machines from Japan to make noodles suited to our taste." He added, "We developed processing technologies ourselves to specialize in Korean wheat-based noodles such as cold noodles, dried noodles, and chewy noodles, accumulating know-how."
Igajayeonmyeon produces various noodle dishes and sauces, broths, centered on noodles made from Korean wheat, including semi-cooked spaghetti noodles, non-fried air-dried non-fried raw ramen, fresh noodles, chewy cooked noodles, sujebi (hand-torn noodle soup), and buckwheat noodles. They developed semi-cooked noodles that are moderately boiled for easy cooking and resistant to becoming soggy. Instead of freezing or refrigerating for delivery to restaurants and cafeterias, they also developed a method to store the products at room temperature. CEO Lee said, "Last year, we recorded sales of 25.4 billion KRW, and in the first half of this year, sales increased by about 27% compared to the previous year." He added, "Since 2016, we have built an official online mall on Cafe24 to support online orders from customers seeking commercial-use products, with a repurchase rate reaching 70-80%."

At the official Igajayeonmall shopping mall, customers can purchase various noodle cooking ingredients from Korean, Japanese, and Western cuisines. Recently, convenience food products developed for general consumers have also become available here. CEO Lee said, "We plan to continuously develop popular home-use convenience food products and release set products that can only be found in our mall."
