Previously, a complainant filed a petition with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's National Petition Board, requesting punishment for Shim's illegal wiretapping. A media outlet reported messenger conversations between Shim and coach A, stating that Shim said, "I'm in the locker room trying to hear what Choi Min-jeong is saying to the coach," and "I have to record it."
