Kim Dong-yeon: "Ahn Cheol-soo and Sim Sang-jung Can Join Hands and Cooperate"
Raising Critical Voices Against Lee Jae-myung, Yoon Seok-yeol, and Hong Jun-pyo
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Kim Dong-yeon, former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, who is launching the new party 'Saeroun Mulgyeol' (New Wave), opened the possibility of alliance with Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People Power Party, and Sim Sang-jung, presidential candidate of the Justice Party, on the 25th.
Kim appeared on CBS Radio that day and said, "If our thoughts and philosophies align, there is room to join hands and cooperate." Regarding the alliance plan with Ahn, he said, "It is not a conversation with much progress, but we exchanged pleasantries over the phone," adding, "If there is an opportunity to confirm our thoughts and have a conversation, I would not hesitate, and I might even be the one to suggest meeting first." About candidate Sim, he said, "I learned a lot when I served on the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee and she has many good ideas," and added, "There are many good points to refer to in Sim's alternatives."
Regarding the current presidential election situation, he criticized all the candidates including Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party, former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, and Hong Joon-pyo of the People Power Party, saying, "I think there are really many problems in this kind of election where people try not to vote for the worse candidate." On the Daejang-dong allegations surrounding candidate Lee, he said, "It is a very blatant incident that shows the biggest problems of our society," and about former Prosecutor General Yoon, he remarked, "It seems like a small startup CEO who just started political entrepreneurship is trying to join a large corporation and become the CEO right away." Regarding Hong, he criticized, "Although he has much political experience, I don't know if his expiration date is still valid," adding, "He could become a flat soda."
