KOTRA Discusses Strengthening Korea-Slovakia Defense Material Trade Cooperation
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] On the 19th, KOTRA held a meeting at its headquarters in Yeomgok-dong, Seoul, with the Modernization Department of the Slovak Ministry of Defense, who visited Korea to attend ADEX (Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition), to discuss ways to revitalize defense material trade between Korea and Slovakia.
The Modernization Department of the Slovak Ministry of Defense serves the same role as Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration. Jozef Zekucia, head of the Modernization Department of the Slovak Ministry of Defense, showed great interest in KOTRA's government-to-government (G2G) transactions and financial support measures, stating, "We hope that defense trade between the two countries will expand and industrial cooperation will be continuously strengthened."
KOTRA President Jeong-yeol Yoo responded, "Korea will be the best partner country for Slovakia's recent defense capability enhancement projects," adding, "As the dedicated G2G agency, KOTRA will continuously support defense trade that enables a win-win situation for both countries."
