Geochang-gun Reports 2 Additional COVID-19 Cases Among Football Club Self-Quarantined Individuals
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that two additional cases tested positive for COVID-19 after being classified as contacts related to a local soccer club and undergoing self-quarantine and testing.
The confirmed cases, students belonging to the soccer club, received inconclusive COVID-19 test results on the 15th and were self-quarantining. They were confirmed positive after testing again on the 17th. There is no movement history.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, stated, “While preparing for a return to pre-COVID-19 daily life, it is important to ensure that excessive relaxation of quarantine vigilance does not lead to a rapid spread of the outbreak.” He added, “We ask the residents to continuously follow quarantine guidelines and cooperate in increasing vaccination rates for a smooth phased recovery of daily life.”
