View original image[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 18th that Nam Yoon-seok, head of the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group in Mangun-myeon, and Moon Byung-wan, a member of the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group in Illo-eup, received commendations from the Governor of Jeollanam-do for their contributions in the field of disaster management.
So far, the local autonomous disaster prevention groups have been carrying out emergency recovery support activities during heavy rains and have continuously conducted welfare checks on vulnerable groups, fulfilling their role as guardians of community safety.
Going forward, the county and the disaster prevention groups plan to thoroughly prepare in advance for winter disasters such as cold waves and heavy snowfall to minimize damage to lives and property and to assist neighbors in vulnerable groups so they do not suffer from the cold.
Head Park Jang-bae said, “I sincerely congratulate Nam Yoon-seok, head of the Mangun-myeon Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, and Moon Byung-wan of Illo-eup on receiving the commendation,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in disaster prevention and recovery activities for the local community.”
Governor Kim San said, “I appreciate the hard work of the local autonomous disaster prevention group members who have worked day and night to respond to various disasters,” and added, “As various disasters due to climate change are expected, we will complete preemptive measures such as inspecting vulnerable facilities before winter arrives to ensure no inconvenience to the residents.”
