"AI Recommends Recipes" SK Telecom Integrates 'NUGU' into Kitchen TV
Kostel, Korea's No.1 Kitchen TV Company, Signs Business Agreement for AI Device and Service Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] A service that allows users to check news and weather through voice commands in the kitchen and receive recipe recommendations will be launched.
SK Telecom announced on the 18th that it has signed a business agreement with Kostel, the number one kitchen TV company in Korea, to develop AI devices and services based on its artificial intelligence (AI) platform ‘NUGU’.
Through this agreement, SK Telecom plans to install the ‘NUGU Software Development Kit (SDK)’ on Kostel’s kitchen TVs to make the kitchen space more convenient and smarter. This is the first case where the entire NUGU platform service can be used on a third-party device equipped with the NUGU SDK.
Kostel kitchen TVs equipped with the NUGU SDK will feature various NUGU functions activated by voice commands, including ▲music and radio listening ▲news and weather checking ▲podcasts ▲recipe and menu recommendations ▲emotional conversations. Taking advantage of the display on the kitchen TV, control via screen touch will also be possible in addition to voice commands.
Hyun-Ah Lee, Head of AI&CO (Company) at SK Telecom, said, “With the installation of the NUGU SDK on kitchen TVs, the era of actively utilizing AI in the kitchen has begun,” and added, “SK Telecom will continue to pursue ‘NUGU everywhere,’ where AI can be encountered anytime and anywhere.”
