Paju City, "Military Eases Access Procedures for Farmers in Northern Unification Bridge Area"
Relaxation of Access Regulations Within the Range That Does Not Interfere with Military Operations
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the same day that "the Army's 1st Division has notified a relaxation of entry procedures to the civilian-controlled northern area starting from the 15th, regarding the access issues to the Unification Bridge where complaints were raised due to recent restrictions on farmers entering the civilian-controlled northern area."
According to the city, the local military unit had recently applied strict entry regulations considering the security situation, but decided to ease the entry rules within the scope that does not interfere with military operations to ensure the safety of farmers and local residents and to facilitate smooth farming activities.
Accordingly, civilian-controlled northern area farmers (farming assistants) can apply in advance by phone to the Civilian Control Post for individual southward entry if necessary, and there will no longer be a limit on the number of farming assistants that one person can lead.
