Kumho Petrochemical Supports Production of White Canes for the Visually Impaired
On the 15th, Kumho Petrochemical donated 54 million won to the Korea Blind Welfare Center to support the production of assistive devices for the visually impaired in observance of White Cane Safety Day. The white cane is a tool for the safe mobility of visually impaired individuals, and the company has been supporting this cause annually since 2008. The welfare center plans to produce 1,459 white canes and distribute them to people with severe visual impairments. To date, the company has supported and distributed a total of 19,551 white canes. The World Blind Union declared this day in 1980 to protect the rights of the visually impaired and to raise social awareness.
