[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 15th that it held a donation ceremony for crime victim support funds in collaboration with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Gangdong-Songpa Branch and others.
The donation funds supported by KEPCO Gangdong-Songpa Branch are used as emergency support funds for crime victims who are unable to receive assistance due to blind spots in the crime victim relief system or who are suffering from serious crime damages. After the Gangdong Police Station selects the recipients, the funds are delivered to the crime victims through the execution by the Korean Red Cross.
The donation ceremony held on the 13th was attended by Jang Sung-bae, head of KEPCO Gangdong-Songpa Branch, Moon Soo-sun, head of the Social Service Team of the Seoul Metropolitan Chapter of the Korean Red Cross, and other related officials.
The Gangdong Police Station signed a business agreement with KEPCO Gangdong-Songpa Branch in 2018 to actively support victim protection. Since 2018, KEPCO Gangdong-Songpa Branch has supported a total of 12.5 million won by matching the donation amounts contributed by its employees.
