The Dementia Safe Franchise is a private business that actively participates in building a dementia safety net so that dementia patients and their families can live healthily and happily under the care of the local community.
Dong-gu selected Sansu 2-dong as a pilot district for the Dementia Safe Franchise, considering factors such as the elderly population and the number of seniors with mild cognitive impairment among the seven Dementia Safe Villages (Gyerim 1·2, Sansu 1·2, Jisan 1·2, Jiwon), and has designated 10 places so far, including beauty salons, restaurants, and fruit stores.
Once designated as a Dementia Safe Franchise, the business participates in ▲ helping dementia seniors in difficulty ▲ checking on dementia seniors ▲ providing dementia-related information to Dementia Safety Centers ▲ participating in dementia overcoming campaigns.
Starting from November, Dementia Safe Franchise events such as taking certification photos and adding KakaoTalk channels will be held, and gift certificates will be provided.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “In a super-aged society, the increasing number of dementia patients every year is not just a family issue but a social problem,” adding, “We hope that dementia seniors can live more safely and healthily with the warm interest and care of neighbors and the community.”
