Hapcheon-gun Promotes Production Support Project for Contract Wheat Farming Households
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it will promote the wheat production support project, which provides agricultural materials necessary for wheat cultivation to contract farming households ahead of the sowing of 2022 domestic wheat.
Farmers who wish to apply for the wheat production support project should sign a 2022 wheat cultivation contract with Hapcheon Woori Wheat Agricultural Cooperative Corporation or Hanbyeot Eco-friendly Horticulture Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, which are wheat purchasing corporations in Hapcheon, and submit the project application form to the town or township office of their address by the 29th of this month.
Currently, the contracted cultivation area and expected production volume of 2022 domestic wheat in the county are approximately 250ha and 1000 tons for Hapcheon Woori Wheat Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, and 12ha and 50 tons for Hanbyeot Eco-friendly Horticulture Agricultural Cooperative Corporation. Hapcheon Woori Wheat Agricultural Cooperative Corporation plans to sell wheat through domestic wheat and government stockpiling purchases, while Hanbyeot Eco-friendly Horticulture Agricultural Cooperative Corporation plans to sell all to iCOOP Consumer Cooperative.
In addition, since 2019, the county has been supporting stable wheat production funds that guarantee a purchase price of 50,000 KRW to stabilize the management of wheat farming households. This year, it supported a total of 212 million KRW to 119 contract farming households of 2021 domestic wheat, at 11,000 KRW per 40kg sack.
