View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Elderly Customized Care Center of Dongshin University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced on the 14th that it held an 'Elderly Crime Prevention Meeting and Education' jointly with Naju Police Station.
No Hyung-gi, head of the Women and Youth Division at Naju Police Station, served as the instructor and gave a lecture to 67 elderly care service providers on the correct understanding of elder abuse and case types, and shared difficulties and information about elder abuse with the care providers.
In particular, it was explained that the incidence of elder abuse has increased as the time spent at home has increased due to COVID-19, and that 88% of elder abuse occurs within the home, emphasizing the role of care providers as mandatory reporters.
The Dongshin University Elderly Customized Care Center previously signed a business agreement with Naju Police Station in August to activate community policing and prevent crimes against the elderly.
