LG Electronics Honored with Top Award in KOSPI Category at 2021 Korea IR Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] LG Electronics received the highest honor, the Grand Prize, at the '2021 Korea IR Awards' hosted by the Korea IR Council.
On the 14th, LG Electronics won the Grand Prize in the KOSPI category at the '2021 Korea IR Awards' ceremony held at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. Following last year's Excellence Award, LG Electronics has been named among the award-winning companies for three consecutive years, including this year. The company was recognized for its efforts to enhance shareholder value and secure a stable investment foundation through systematic and proactive IR activities.
Since 2001, the Korea IR Council has annually selected companies and executives who have contributed to the sound development of the capital market through effective IR activities and presented the Korea IR Awards. Award-winning companies are determined through rigorous evaluation by a panel consisting of analysts and institutional investors covering all aspects of IR activities.
LG Electronics' key executives regularly meet with analysts to share the company's business direction and status and listen to market opinions.
This year, despite the COVID-19 situation, LG Electronics actively communicated with analysts and institutional investors using various non-face-to-face methods to promote corporate activities. Regarding significant matters affecting corporate value evaluation, such as the establishment of the 'LG Magna e-Powertrain' joint venture at the end of last year and the termination of the mobile phone business in April this year, the company proactively held conference calls.
Additionally, LG Electronics is strengthening IR activities related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Since this year, it has introduced electronic voting to enhance shareholder voting rights and has participated in various ESG conferences to faithfully convey the company's ESG information. Furthermore, since last year, LG Electronics has built an IR activity management system applying digital transformation. This system allows quantitative analysis of IR activities, enabling systematic and efficient management of IR efforts.
