Jeonju City Begins Drafting Plans for Western District Complex Welfare Center
Submission of Design Competition Applications for the Construction of Jeonju Seobu District Complex Welfare Center on the 15th of This Month
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 13th that it will accept design competition applications on the 15th to build the Western District Complex Welfare Center on private land near Jeonil High School in the Western New Town.
The Western District Complex Welfare Center is planned to be constructed with a total investment of 22.7 billion KRW, including 2.7 billion KRW in national funds, covering a scale of one basement floor, five above-ground floors, and a total floor area of 5,950㎡.
The facility will include a senior welfare center, senior club, family center, and a community care center.
In particular, Jeonju City aims to make the Western District Complex Welfare Center a space that addresses the lack of welfare infrastructure due to urban expansion and contributes to improving the quality of life for residents in the Hyodong area.
In this design competition, Jeonju City plans to efficiently arrange facilities with different operating entities such as seniors, multicultural families, and children, focusing on design and efficiency in spatial composition as well as landscaping and rest area plans.
Jeonju City will receive design submissions on December 9 from architects who have applied, then form a design competition judging committee composed of architectural experts to evaluate the works on December 21.
The evaluation will be conducted through presentations, Q&A, and discussions by the architects, and to ensure transparent and fair judging, all processes will be broadcast live on Jeonju City's LIVE YouTube channel.
The results will be posted on Jeonju City's official website, and the final winning design will be granted the design rights.
After a 10-month design period and various administrative procedures, Jeonju City plans to start construction in December next year and complete it by June 2025.
