80% Employment Rate with Lotte Homeshopping Partners
Selected Participants Increased by 30% This Year Considering COVID-19 Employment Challenges
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 13th that it held the 6th session meeting of the women's talent development program "Sangsaeng Iljari" at The State Hotel Seonyu in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 12th.
"Sangsaeng Iljari," aimed at helping women who face difficulties in job searching due to career interruptions to re-enter the workforce, has been operated jointly with the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries since 2018 as part of a project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. As of the 5th session, out of a total of 178 graduates, 136 have successfully found reemployment, achieving an 80% employment rate. There have been cases of employment in various fields such as beauty and health foods, mainly with Lotte Homeshopping partners. For the 6th session, 40 women with career interruptions of up to five years due to employment difficulties or marriage were selected, and considering the challenging employment environment caused by COVID-19, the number of selected participants was increased by 30% compared to last year.
The meeting was held in small groups to prevent COVID-19 infection, providing an opportunity to share the status of operations up to the 5th session, the education schedule, and future plans. Over the next four weeks, capacity-building education for reemployment will be conducted in a hybrid format of online and offline, including ▲understanding the home shopping industry and job roles ▲computer certification acquisition courses ▲resume writing techniques and interview consulting. From this year, job-centered programs such as distribution specialist training and mobile studio on-site visits have been strengthened. Participants receive separate education support funds, and after completion, an employment matching program is conducted in connection with more than 20 companies, including Lotte Homeshopping partners. Partner companies also receive a hiring incentive of 5.4 million KRW per hire (1.8 million KRW per month for three months).
