[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] Nam Wook, a key figure in the Daejang-dong development preferential treatment suspicion case, is expected to return to Korea soon. Nam is currently staying in the United States.
According to the legal community on the 12th, Nam recently hired lawyers from a major domestic law firm and is preparing for the prosecution's investigation. This law firm represented him in the criminal case when he was arrested in 2015 on suspicion of lobbying related to the Daejang-dong development.
Nam participated in the development project company along with Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, in the Daejang-dong development. He is the actual owner of Cheonhwa Dongin No. 4, which invested in 'Seongnam's Garden,' investing 87.21 million KRW and receiving dividends of about 100 billion KRW.
